Loving the Nice Weather

It seems like it went from 50-100 degrees over night, but you won't see us complaining!!  Little guy LOVES being outside watching the planes and going for walks!  Yesterday we strolled around the neighborhood trying out the new wagon he got for Christmas!

Happy Easter 2013

It's amazing to me that we are already on round two of holidays for Ryan!  Look how much he has already grown!!!!  Time is going way to fast!  I have a zillion pictures per usual, I can't help myself and I don't want to forget anything!

This year he dyed easter eggs, really just loved banging the spoon on the coffee mug and then reaching in and grabbing the egg, anything to make some noise!

We woke up and Ryan came downstairs to see his Easter basket, it was so cool watching him explore the contents and try on his new shades!

We spent the afternoon at mom's with family and it was a great time, Ryan of course was the center of attention and loved every second of it!!  The bunny visited him at Grandma's too, can we say spoooooiled!!!

  

 

Santa

Going to see Santa was such an experience!!  We got there early while Santa was on a break so we could be first in line, good planning mommy!!  You LOVED all the lights of course and the big soldier nut cracker.  You couldn't stop looking around at all of the Christmas decorations it was adorable.  And then HO HO HO Santa was coming down the escalator and you were just watching him, couldn't take your eyes off him!!  We were worried you might cry, but nope you sat with him just perfectly!!!  Sooo excited you liked Santa!

1st Thanksgiving and Weekend of Fun

This was your very first Thanksgiving and super fun crazy awesome weekend!!!  Of course mommy and daddy are sooooo thankful for you this year and being in our lives.  We celebrated at Grandmas, it was also her birthday!  Great Grandma and Papa, Scott/Jennifer/Madi/Sam, Chris and Jen, Whitney and Galen, and mommy and daddy were all there to witness your first feast!!

On Friday we went down to the National Harbor to go the the Ice Show, featuring none other than Mommy's fave Shrek!!

 

 

 

 Saturday you got to see Auntie Jessica and Sunday you got to see a lot of your friends!!  You had a wonderful 1st Thanksgiving!

 

 

10 Months

Dear Ryan-

This 10th month has been FULL of everything, literally.  Let's see...you're moving and moving fast, whole new ball game!  You have an entire floor of toys and you still have your eyes set on the curtains, the fire place, and any cord you can get your hands on.  You also love to stand and cruise around the house in your walker like race car driver.  You laugh and laugh and laugh and it's just the best sound I have ever heard.  Your personality is contagious and you are just the coolest little guy!!  You are totally laid back, very curious, maybe even a little sensitive and totally in LOVE with your mom and dad.  The excitement we get every time we walk in the door is just amazing.  

You are in size 4 diapers, size 12-18 months clothes and size 3 shoes, and have 5 and a half teeth that are sharp.  You are in your new car seat which you seem to like much better and are way more comfortable.  You eat everything!  Breakfast is cheerios and oatmeal and a bottle, Lunch is a baby food 3 with any leftovers from dinner the night before and a bottle, afternoon snack is yogurt and an applesauce, and for dinner you get a real meal to accompany your baby food which you seem to be hating more and more everyday, I guess once you get real food you never go back.  Mostly we do chicken and green beans, Gma gave you scalloped tatos when you stayed over there and you were obsessed, and you always gets puffs which are the only way to keep you from screaming while we make your dinner ha!  We did find out you don't like the baby food mixture of zuchinni and broccoli- go figure!  Sleeping is so so, I would say every 3rd - 4th night you wake up multiple times for long periods...  Between teething, nightmares, and??? you wake up a lot.  We try everything and when everything doesn't work you spend some time in bed with us which is terrible and a very bad habit butttttt we gotta work so we need sleep.  Hopefully this doesn't last long ha!

This month you had so many wonderful experiences.  You got to meet a new friend Ellie who was in from California, we can't wait to go visit them in their neck of the woods.  We spent fabulous afternoon at Cox Farms with the Robins family.  This place is literally amazing and I can't wait to take you every year from now on, so many things for kids to do.  You experienced a few more Tech and Redskins losses, Hurricane Sandy, and your very first sickness.  You had your first temp, strep throat, and croup cough.  This was terrible and so sad, you had never coughed with all that stuff in your throat before which I know is so painful and you would just cry in pain every time you coughed, have never seen you so sad and upset.  Poor little man, but as soon as you got meds, our little guy was back.  And how could we forget your very first Halloween!!!  You dressed up as the cutest little lion I have ever seen.  We had moms group where you all dressed up, there were lots of tears.  Then for Halloween Gma came over and we all went around the neighborhood with the neighbors.  I love having my baby, this was so much fun!!  You loved watching all your friends run around in their crazy costumes and you really loved all the orange lights at everyone's houses.

You are SO MUCH FUN!!  You play ring-around-the-rosy and fall down on your own, you clap your hands mostly when you get your food in your own mouth, and talk a lot, still not any words that I can really make out just blahblahblahblah, and are just an awesome cuddle bug, the best hugs!!  We are now working on blowing kisses, so cute!  It seems every day this month you grew and conquered something new.  You are such a little boy now!!

Sick Baby

After 9 months of having relatively perfect health (after the leaving the hospital of course) somehow you caught strep and croup at the same time.  Poor little guy.  Hurricane Sandy has closed down virtually everything around us so we were finally able to get you in to the doctors today right when they opened.  We have known for the past 24 hours something was wrong, you weren't your normal happy self, you were so sad and fussy and coughing :(  Glad we were able to figure out what was wrong and now you are on Augmentin and some other steroid thing for the cough.

Finally on the way to the pediatricians office...you still take a great pic even when you don't feel good!!

Cox Farms

Cox Farms is the coolest place ever for the fall/halloween feel.  We had never been before, guess we were always waiting for a baby to take with us, what an awesome event they put together!!  You lucky duck little boy got to go twice!!  Once with grandma and her friend and grandson and then with mommy, daddy, and the Robins's!!  So much fun!!  We saw animals, you went on a slide with daddy,you hung out on a tractor, we went on a hay ride...great great day with friends!!!

You have been scooting/army crawling for almost 2 weeks now and we finally got it on video, a crooked video but you will get the idea.  Just adorable, click on the pic below to view!!

9 Months

Baby Boy,

9 months!?!?!  That's just completely insane.  I really wish time would stop right now because this has been my favorite favorite month so far, no really I'm serious!!  You are so interactive, you sit, you talk, you play with toys, you are a like a little human, and most recently you army crawl and are all over the place.  You are so so so cuddly and cute.  You can play with your own toys- you love trucks and little people.  You reach up for us even more than you did before and you get upset when I leave for work, which of course breaks my heart and I have to drag myself out the door but I take it has your way of saying "I love you mommy" when you can't talk.

We went back to the docs this month for your 9 months appt, so officially you weigh 21lbs 5.2 ounces (66%) and are 29 inches tall (77%).  Your head continues to be in the 99th percentile.  Clothes, you wear everything, mostly 12 and 18 months stuff.  We have you in size 4 diapers which seem a little bit but they hold everything in there.   Food, we have held nothing back.  You still get your baby food meals three times a day, bottles throughout,but this month you tend to eat our dinner and snacks with us.  You have tried chicken, pasta, cheerios, taco meat, and a ginourmous pickle!  And oh yeah, we are those parents that gave you a lemon, with the video camera rolling and it didn't even phase you.  So reaction to the lemon whatsoever!  Oh and you have 4 teeth!

You took your first plane trip to visit Auntie Jill, she just loves you so much!!  She had a super cute welcome basket waiting for you and you loved everything in it.  Every moment you spent with her you were so happy and content, until she dropped your fingers and you fell on your head (butt first then head), when you are mr tough guy you have her to thank :)  Sleeping has been okay although we still have nights here and there that are not fun, we are blaming those on teething.

Your personality is coming through like never before.  Once night we were out to dinner with the Farrells and you were in your highchair, were playing with the cloth napkin and then started pulling it up over your face and then down, and then repeat- just like peekaboo.  Daddy and I were both wondering where you learned that, you are so funny!!  You still continue to be the sweetest baby boy, you are so smart and happy, literally happy all of the time.

We have so enjoyed watching you learn and develop this month, we love being your parents and doing as much as we can with you!!  We love you so so so much!!!
